  • Let's face it, getting married can be an expensive time.  Clients are always trying to find the balance between their budget and their vision. My simple explanation on the benefits of having your hair and makeup professionally done is this: while it is an added expense, it is part of your bridal look, which is one of the single most long-lasting impressions of your wedding day and should be a priority in your budget.

    You have chosen the perfect photographer to document your special moments, reflect your personal style, and having your hair and makeup professionally done will ensure you look your very best in these lasting images and complement the amazing work your photographer has done. Hair and makeup styling for a wedding or special event is different from your everyday look.

    A reputable professional will have the appropriate products, training and experience to ensure you have a long-lasting look that will keep you looking your best the whole day, in person and in your photos. This is not a time to experiment with someone who isn't familiar with applications and styling for photography, or the timing, emotion and underlying stresses involved in the preparation for a wedding or photo session.  Part of my job is to ensure that my clients don't have added stress, the time I am with them is managed well so they can relax and enjoy getting pampered, and anticipate any situations that may prevent you from having a smooth and enjoyable appointment for your services.  

    While there are a lot of great artists who will make you look beautiful, the key is to ensure you have an artist who can keep your morning running smoothly and make sure you feel good all day long!

  • For weddings, we generally book 6-12 months in advance, dates book up quickly and it's best to decide on your artist sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment. For other services, we generally book at least a week in advance, but availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Yes. This enables our team to ensure we are able to take the time needed to get to know your hair and skin, and make any necessary adjustments on the wedding day seamlessly. This preview is typically done during your wedding week. Previews are only required for Bridal services.

  • After responding to an initial inquiry via e-mail, our amazing admin assistant will send our current pricing, as well as a questionnaire for you to fill out and return to us. Once we have that, we will prepare an estimate and contract for your review. The next step will be to return your signed contract and deposit to secure your booking. As a general guideline, your booking is not secure, and your date is not reserved until your signed contract and deposit is received.

  • Unfortunately, no; demand for services during peak wedding months is very high, and for that reason, dates can not be held for any longer than 7 days from first contact. Our availability is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and is only secured and confirmed, by returning a signed contract along with your booking deposit.

  • All of our rates are firm and non-negotiable. We work diligently to provide a price that is fair to our clients and our artists, based on time, talent, experience, and ongoing expenses to ensure we provide the best experience we can for our clients.

  • You will need inspiration images of the look you would like to see, as well as any accessories you may be using. Please ensure you have unwashed hair and a clean, moisturized face.

  • All items utilized in our kit are of professional quality, high performing, and have been carefully selected for their ability to photograph beautifully while maintaining a natural, fresh finish. To ensure durability throughout the day, all of the products that we use are professional grade, long-wearing, and water resistant. Selected brands include RCMA Makeup, Face Atelier, Viseart, Ben Nye, MAC Cosmetics, Glossier, Make Up Forever, and Danessa Myricks to name a few.

    We generally prefer to use our own products for hair and makeup, as we are confident they will perform optimally for your event. We completely understand our clients have products they can’t live without on a day-to-day basis, but those products may not be suited for our climate or professional photography.

    We are continually researching new products that will suit our clients’ needs! Specific products depend on the location and climate, as well as skin/texture and final look desired.

  • Not at all, our service is about enhancing your natural features and creating a look that feels like you, just more polished, ensuring you look flawless on and off camera. Bridal makeup is all about good balance therefore we will ensure there is a balance of what will look good on camera and still natural to make sure you feel comfortable with your chosen look.

  • This depends on the number of services requested and the number of artists we have allocated to your day. In the final weeks prior to your services, we will provide a service timeline for your day based on the overall timeline and photography timeline (with a little cushion for unexpected delays).

  • We will prepare a detailed timeline for your wedding day services once the time you will need to be finished with hair and makeup is established. We do not include specific time slots for each service as our first goal is to ensure you and your loved ones are ready for the next stage of your day and have found in the past that specific time slots can be problematic if someone is late, which throws off the entire schedule and ultimately, will put us behind. Instead, we suggest our clients use this time as an opportunity to enjoy quality time with your favorite ladies, share a meal, reminisce, and embrace these last few moments as a single person. You won’t regret it!

  • Yes! We will schedule the appropriate number of artists to accommodate your requested services within a reasonable time frame on your big day. Should you request additional artists over and above what our experience has taught us we will need, there will be an additional fee.

    In our experience, it is more streamlined for us to coordinate this aspect as we understand how much time we need to provide your services. Should you want to have other artists outside of our team, we kindly request our timeline is respected and takes precedence to ensure we are able to provide your services in the time frame we have committed to.

  • We are a fully on-site service provider, and as such, don’t provide services from a studio or our homes. We provide services locally and internationally at either your home, hotel room, or wedding venue. Our pricing is based on travel to your location in Sayulita, Nayarit, other locations will be quoted when the estimate is prepared and sent to you.

  • While every artist is different, we suggest our clients have unwashed hair(at least a day old), and a clean, moisturized face, with inspiration images of what they would like for their final look. When looking for inspiration images, look for photos that show women with a similar face shape, skin tone, and hair color.

    All services are timed based on a clean face and dry, unwashed(day old)hair, and provide optimal results for long-lasting results. Should you prefer to have a blowout or additional preparation prior to your service, there will be an additional charge.

  • Yes, all makeup applications include customized individual lash application.

  • Yes! In addition to your wedding day, we are also available for engagement photos, boudoir sessions, and rehearsal dinner services. These sessions are highly requested and are a great addition to your bridal services.

  • Most brides book their bridal services one year in advance, but I recommend booking your preferred hair and makeup artist well in advance to secure their availability.

  • A minimum is applied to all Bridal bookings (Jenn $600, Justine $500, Gustavo $400). All listed pricing is in USD.

    All pricing includes travel to your location within Sayulita, Riviera Nayarit. Travel fees may apply for events outside of Sayulita and will be quoted on an individual basis. Any parking or entry fees will be charged to the client.

    All bridal services require a trial β€” this ensures we can dedicate the required time to creating the desired look, and factor in necessary adjustments to address the effects of climate prior to the client's wedding day. This service is in place to ensure the wedding day goes smoothly, and the client knows what to expect.

    A 15% Service Fee will be added to all parties.

    A booking is not confirmed until a non-refundable, non-transferable 30% deposit and a signed contract have been received by Jenn Chivers & Co. Beauty Team. The deposit will be applied to the final invoice. Due to high demand, we can not hold dates longer than 7 days without a signed contract and deposit.
