Why should I have my hair and makeup professionally done?

-Let's face it, getting married can be an expensive time.  Clients are always looking for ways to stretch their wedding budget as far as possible. My simple explanation to clients on the benefits of having your hair and makeup professionally done is this: while it is an added expense, it is part of your bridal look, which is one of the single most long lasting impressions of your wedding day and should be a priority in your budget. You have chosen the perfect photographer to document your special moments, reflect your personal style, and having your hair and makeup professionally done will ensure you look your very best in these lasting images s and complement the amazing work your photographer has done. Hair and makeup styling for a wedding or special event is different than your everyday look. A reputable professional will have the appropriate products, training and experience to ensure you have a long lasting look that will keep you looking your best the whole day, in person and in your photos. This is not a time to experiment with someone who isn't familiar with applications and styling for photography, or the timing, emotion and underlying stresses involved in the preparation for a wedding or photo session.  Part of my job is to ensure that my clients don't have added stress, the time I am with them is managed well so they can relax and enjoy getting pampered, and anticipate any situations that may prevent you from having a smooth and enjoyable appointment for your services.  While there are a lot of great artists who will make you look beautiful, the key is to ensure you have an artist who can keep your morning running smoothly and make sure you feel good all day long!

When should I book my hair and makeup services?

-for weddings, I generally book 8-12 months in advance, dates book up quickly and it's best to decide on your artist sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment. For other services, I generally book at least a week in advance, but my availability is on a first come, first served basis.

Do I have to do a trial?

-for all services other than bridal, a trial is not necessary. However, I don't provide bridal services without doing a trial beforehand. This is an opportunity for us to ensure you have exactly the look you want for your big day and any adjustments can be made then, so the wedding day can be as stress free as possible. During your trial, I will take notes on products I am using, as well as photos to ensure we can easily replicate your look.

What do I need to book?

-I require a signed contract and  a 30% non refundable deposit, based on total services booked, which will be applied to your total due on the wedding day. For all services other than wedding services, I require a signed contract and a $50 deposit. I will not hold a booking request indefinitely without the deposit and contract.

What do I need to bring to the trial?

-you will need inspiration images of the look you would like to see, as well as any accessories you may be using. Please ensure you have unwashed hair and a clean, moisturized face.

What types of products do you use?

-my hair and makeup kits are stocked with the best quality products that will ensure you are looking great all day! I use a variety of products in each kit, but some of my favorites are Urban Decay, Makeup Forever, MAC, Inglot, RCMA and Ben Nye. I am continually researching new products that will suit my clients needs! Specific products depend on the location and climate, as well as skin/texture and final look desired.

How long will my services take?

-the total service time will depend on the number of people in your party and the type of services required. I will confirm the timeline in the time leading up to your service date. It is important to give accurate numbers for people wanting services, as well as appropriate finish times to ensure I am able to accommodate you.

Do you have other artists you work with for larger groups?

-yes. depending on the size of your group, I am able to bring a second artist, an assistant, or both to ensure your day goes smoothly and efficiently.

What should I do to prepare for my services?

-While every artist is different, I suggest my clients have unwashed hair(at least day old), and a clean, moistuized face, with inspiration images of what they would like for their final look
